At the beginning of November the French government has selected WindFloat as its first pilot project dealing with floating offshore wind turbines. WindFloat is a project that has been developed from several international actors that will finally test their concept in the marine environment, off the coast of Leucate.

The wind farm will include 4 turbines of 6 MW from GE that should be online in 2020.

Here at Windcrete we are extremely pleased with their results and want to congrat with them for their achievement. This is another step for the development of floating wind turbines and will lead to the exploitation of the vastest source of wind power, standing in the undisturbed ocean.
